"Broadsword calling Danny Boy....Broadsword calling Danny Boy..."
Airfix is written into the DNA of all British men and boys - Spitfires duelling with Messerschmitts over the English Channel; daring Commando raids behind enemy lines; Rommel's tanks charging across the desert sand - it's in our blood. An Airfix kit, a tube of glue (not for sniffing) and a few little pots of paint and every Sunday afternoon war movie or Commando Comic fantasy you ever had becomes real. So load your Tommy Gun or jump into your Spitfire cockpit and get ready for the best boy's nostalgia trip you can buy!
The Wasa was a Swedish ship launched in 1628 to support the legendary Swedish monarch Gustavus Adolphus' efforts in the Thirty Years War. Unfortunately she sank on her maiden voyage but for the modeller this is a great boon since the Wasa was floated and is now preserved as a museum ship meaning this model is highly accurate. A great model and typical of the ship of the line in the early C17th.
