Bach was the musical genius who perfected the Baroque style and inspired other legendary composers such as Mozart and Beethoven. A genius of orchestration but most especially the keyboard - many of his great works were written for clavichord and church organ.

Born in 1685 Bach had composed 1200 pieces of music and fathered 20 children by the time his failing eyesight obliged him to submit to the primitive surgery of the day which hastened his death in 1750.
